Welcome to the Tulip Bloom Craft Club!

Hi, I’m Charlotte! I started up my own small business in 2020, due to the pandemic. I had multiple family members that were at high risk in the pandemic so I felt the best way to earn any money was to pursue something I could do from home. It all started when I was much younger, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house, particularly with my nana. We were always crafting! I still love to craft now about 15 years later and i’m so privileged to be able to take this step and turn my crafting into a career. My nana has since passed away, but she lives on, particularly here at Tulip Bloom. You’ll find in my shop tab, a category called Chrissy’s Corner. This is a space dedicated to my nana, who spent hours teaching me how to sew. In the Chrissy’s corner category you’ll find one off sewn items, things like tote bags, make up bags etc.

My first shop was called the Cloudy Painter, founded in 2020, I sold over 2000 hand-sewn pastel coloured face-masks across the world. I did this whilst the world was beginning to shut down and I was also balancing my studying for my Fine Art, Fashion & Textiles and Business A-Levels. I changed the name of my shop to StudioByCharlEm after taking a brief break as I then went to university to study Fashion Buying & Merchandising. I have sold over 1200 bookmarks and greeting cards over on Etsy in the last year. But I wanted my own space in the e-commerce world. So here we are in 2024 with Tulip Bloom Studio.

Tulip Bloom will house all of my makes like my greetings cards, bookmarks and one of a kind makes. But it will also house a community for crafting. Each month there will be a new craft for you to try, whether it’s woodworking, crocheting, calligraphy or sewing. I would also like to welcome some guest creators onto the blog to talk about their crafts and their small businesses. Together we are building a community, a place to switch off when the world gets a little bit too much!
